Marvel E. Lewis appointed as Guthrie City Attorney

The City of Guthrie has announced the appointment of Marvel E. Lewis as its new City Attorney. Lewis, who began his duties on November 1, 2025, brings more than 23 years of legal experience to the position.

Lewis has built a career through a broad range of legal work.

Since 2007, he has operated his own private practice, Marvel E. Lewis, P.C., and previously worked with White & Weddle, P.C. from 2002 to 2007. His practice has included civil litigation involving class actions, wrongful death, bad faith insurance, and tort claims.

In addition to his private practice, Lewis also serves in municipal governance as a Municipal Judge for the City of Crescent and the Town of Wellston.

A graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law, Lewis earned his Juris Doctor in 2002, finishing in the top third of his class. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, earned in 1989.
