Mary Beth Davis continues to show that a vehicle accident in 2010 is not going to slow her down. Her most recent accomplishment came just this weekend when she was crowned Ms Wheelchair Oklahoma 2014.
Davis competed on Saturday, March 29 in the Ms Wheelchair Oklahoma Leadership Pageant.
“When she found out it was not a beauty pageant but rather an advocacy for women in wheelchairs, she decided to compete,” Teresa Davis the mother of Mary Beth said.
Each contestant gave a platform speech.
With the title, Mary Beth will spend the next year communicating the needs and accomplishments of her constituency to the public, business community and legislature.
In addition, she will also be attending the Ms Wheelchair America Pageant, held in Long Beach, CA in August 2015.
People like Mary Beth have demonstrated to the wider community that just because you are in a wheelchair, it doesn’t stop you from being able to achieve success. Following her achievements, she is required to travel the country for different events and may want to seek out a mobility friendly car from places similar to www.brookmiller.co.uk to help make this as easy as possible. Nothing is impossible and Ms. Davis is a representation of this.
Davis was in a vehicle accident west of Stillwater on Highway 51 when her truck flipped twice and rolled down a steep hill. She was medi-flighted to a hospital with trunk, arm, leg and head injuries. She spent two months in hospitals before being released to go home. If your life has been changed by a tragic accident, don’t panic about all the problems you could now face. There are plenty of solutions available which are constantly being developed and improves, for example by visiting the Terry Lifts website you could learn about the benefits of a wheelchair lift over a ramp.
