The May sales tax collections for the City of Guthrie was not the largest jump this year, but it was a significant increase.
The City of Guthrie’s May 2018 sales tax receipt came in at $610,325.22, which is an increase of 16.9 percent, or $88,237.07, compared to May 2017.
For the fiscal year, the sales tax revenue is 11.08 percent higher, or $446,098.36, accumulatively than for the same eight month period of the last budget year.
Of the total collected in the eight months, the General Fund (three percent) has collected $3,579,167.40 and the Capital Improvement Fund (three-quarters percent) at $894,791.85.
The largest jump this fiscal year came in January with a 19.25 percent boost compared to a year ago. However, all eight months have seen an increase so far with the lowest increase coming in March (4.66 percent).
