Double fatality crash in Logan County

Two juveniles were killed, and two other teenagers were injured in a crash Monday night in Logan County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Guthrie News Page first reported the incident on Monday evening, around 8 p.m., near West Charter Oak Road and South May Avenue.

Troopers say a vehicle carrying four juveniles was traveling westbound on Charter Oak Road when it left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and came to rest in a creek bed.

Two passengers inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and another passenger were transported to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.

According to OHP, investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Deer Creek Public Schools confirmed those involved were students and released a statement acknowledging the tragedy.

“It is with deep sadness that we share the news that four of our high school students were involved in a significant car accident last night,” the district said. “While we are still learning more about the situation, we can confirm there were fatalities. Our hearts are with the families, friends, and all those affected by these tragic losses.”


9:48 p.m. — All four involved in this crash are being reported as female juveniles.

8:56 p.m. — A second patient is being transported to OU Medical Center.

8:34 p.m. — This crash is now being reported as a double fatality.

8:33 p.m. — One victim is being transported to Baptist Hospital in OKC.

8:28 p.m. — Both helicopters have been canceled.

8:22 p.m. — Three people are trapped inside the vehicle. OHP has arrived at the scene. The vehicle has left the roadway and is 15-20 feet down into a ravine.

8:20 p.m. — One person has reportedly been killed in this crash.

Emergency crews are on the scene of a serious vehicle crash reported Monday evening in southeastern Logan County.

At around 8 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and multiple fire departments were dispatched to a crash on Charter Oak Road between May Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue. Initial reports indicate the crash may involve up to four people.

Two medical helicopters have been launched to the scene to assist with patient transport.
