Three Mercy hospitals from Oklahoma were recognized as top 20 critical access hospitals in the U.S. for the high-quality care provided to patients. Mercy Hospital Kingfisher, Mercy Hospital Logan County and Mercy Hospital Tishomingo received a Best Practice in Quality award from The Chartis Center for Rural Health, a national health care advisory and analytics firm that conducts the annual study on behalf of the National Rural Health Association.
This is the fourth year Mercy Hospital Logan County received this recognition. Best Practice in Quality award recipients were judged based on quality outcomes like infection prevention protocols, ER wait times, time to medical interventions, readmission rates and more.
“This national award is special because it’s a direct reflection of the kind of care our physicians and co-workers provide in our community every day,” said Bobby Stitt, administrator of Mercy hospitals in Kingfisher and Logan County. “We’re so proud of their dedication to providing safe, compassionate, exceptional health care.”
Now in its thirteenth year, the Chartis rural hospital performance index studied how rural health care providers performed compared to the 2,200 other critical access and rural hospitals in America.
