Mercy Hospital Logan County named Top 20 in the U.S. for Quality of Patient Care

Mercy Hospital Kingfisher and Mercy Hospital Logan County were recognized as “best practice” hospitals for quality care in the U.S. – two of only four rural facilities in the state with the honor.

The rankings are determined using the Chartis Group’s quality index, a rating of hospital performance based on the percentile rank across rural-relevant process of care measures. The grading system considers eight different categories, including the care patients receive at the hospital, patient satisfaction score, cost, etc.

“This recognition means our patients can be confident they are receiving the best possible care close to their homes,” said Bobby Stitt, administrator of Mercy Hospital Kingfisher and Mercy Hospital Logan County. “Our co-workers are to be commended for the compassionate and exceptional care they provide.”

Mercy Hospital Tishomingo also ranked in the Top 20 for quality, joining 15 other hospitals across the country in receiving the designation. The rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). An awards ceremony will be held during NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Missouri.

“NRHA is committed to ensuring our members have the best information to manage their hospitals,” said Brock Slabach, NRHA chief operations officer. “We’re pleased to recognize the accomplishments of these rural hospitals.”
