More than 450 students from Meridian Technology Center will be recognized for completing their training during the school’s upcoming graduation.

Meridian will hold the school’s graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Stillwater High School’s Pioneer Stadium.

In addition to students who are completing their career training, Meridian will recognize students who have maintained high academic standards throughout the school year and are members of the National Technical Honor Society, the Leadership Class and Outstanding Students from each program area.

“Student success is something we are proud to celebrate, and this year is certainly not an exception,” said Superintendent/CEO Dr. Douglas Major. “Students graduating this year are prepared for work and life. During their time at Tech, they have mastered their area of study, Zoom and hands-on hybrid learning. They’ve also grown in their understanding of compassion, personal space, respecting others with differing opinions and new technology. They are driven, determined and dedicated. They are ready for what’s next.”

The decision to hold Meridian’s graduation at Stillwater High School’s Pioneer Stadium will allow students to invite family and friends to share in their accomplishments. Seating for guests will be available on both sides of the stadium. While the number of guests is not limited, attendees will be asked to wear a mask and social distance as a group from other guests.

In the event of rain, Meridian has designated Saturday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. as an alternative graduation date. For those unable to attend the ceremony, a live stream video will be available.

Information on weather delays will be posted on Meridian’s website and social media accounts. For more information on Meridian’s graduation ceremony, visit meridiantech.edu/graduation.

Students attending Meridian can choose from one of more than 20 programs. High school students living in the Meridian district attend tuition-free in either a morning or afternoon session and training takes approximately two years. Adults can attend full-time or part-time and typically complete programs in one or two years.
