It took the First Christian Church congregation several months to prepare, but their mission was carried out on Sunday when nine crews were sent out to be the body of Christ.
A group of 200 people, both adults and children, formed nine working crews ranging from a cook crew to the lawn crew to a baby blanket crew.
Some members of the church showed up in blue jeans and t-shirts for a shorten 30 minute service before heading out.
Jessica Eaves said the cooking crew prepared meals that will be frozen and given out to those in need following surgeries or any other situation a family may be facing. Not to far from the kitchen was the soap crew making soap.
A baby blanket crew was hard at it as they made several blankets that will help single mothers and their babies. In the next room, the card team was decorating get well and other type of arrangement cards to be later given out.
Lowes donated bird baths for each of the nursing homes in Guthrie and were delivered by adults and filled up by the kids. Along with bird baths, the children were spotted filling up bird seed for incoming birds.
The maintenance crew was seen throughout the community replacing batteries in smoke detectors, painting and even building a ramp for a homeowner.
The mowing team was taking advantage of the warm weather and trimmed several yards.
Eaves expressed her gratitude for all of those who helped make it a success and hopes they can continue to do these types of wonderful works.
