Monument installed to welcome visitors to Liberty Lake

The ongoing beautification project for Liberty Lake continues. On Wednesday, a monument was installed to welcome visitors to the lake.

Members of Warren Monument Company, locally owned by Asa and Audra Nelson, installed the monument at the entrance replacing an outdated, wooden sign. Artistic Tile and Granite added some additional work to refurbish the stone.

The granite was purchased for a discounted $100 through the military program. Through the same program, two commercial microwaves, a freezer and a cooler display were also purchased for the retail store.

Guthrie police officer Sgt. Anonthy Gibbs, who has helped over-looked the projects at the lake, says the stone came from either California or South Africa.

“Warren Monument did an amazing job sandblasting the stone and Artistic Tile did a great job of improving the stone’s look,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs says landscaping will soon be added along with LED lighting to help enhance the sign at night.
