Guthrie High School will begin the process of looking for their next boys’ head basketball coach. On Monday, Sean Morgan submitted his resignation.
The Stillwater native informed Athletic Director Jon Chappell that he has accepted a teaching position with Stillwater Public Schools.
“We certainly appreciate the work Coach Morgan has put in for our students both on the court and in the classroom. He will be going back home and wish him nothing but the best, ” Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said in a release.
Morgan compiled a 50-62 record in his five seasons on the Jays sideline with his best season coming in 2020 with a 15-9 record. He served as the Jays assistant coach before accepting the head position in May 2018.
“Having known he and his wife since they were in high school, I know this is all about what is best for their family.”
