Family members and friends are seeking help for a mother who has been hospitalized for three weeks and continues to fight for her life in a Oklahoma City hospital.
Kelley Hayes entered an Enid hospital on Nov. 29 for a hernia repair and hysterectomy. Afterwards, her condition deteriorated and required a second surgery after being found unresponsive.
A third surgery was needed after doctors found an ulcer in the back of Hayes’ stomach resulting in her going into septic shock and sepsis.
Hayes worked two jobs as the sole provider for her two daughters.
Now in the intensive care unit at Mercy Hospital on a respirator, Hayes’ daughter started a GoFundMe page to help with the rising medical costs.
A goal of $10,000 was set and as of Wednesday morning were nearing the half way point.
