Multi-vehicle crash claims three lives, including two children

Two children and an Oklahoma City man died after a multi-vehicle crash late Saturday night just outisde of Logan County. The incident sent three others to the hospital, including two by air.

The crash happened on Saturday just before 11 p.m. on State Highway 33 near Cottonwood Road in Payne County.

The incident involved two vehicles with five people inside a Hyundai Sedan and two people inside a GMC SUV.

Two children — ages 4 and 7 — and a 19-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The 19-year-old has been identified as Braden O’Rourke of Oklahoma City, according to OHP. The names of the two children were not released because of their ages.

The seven-year-old child was a student at Guthrie Public Schools.

“Thank you everyone who reached out to me and my family,” the father of the child said in a social media post. “As you can imagine we are torn apart.”

The OHP report shows a 3-year-old child was transported to OU Medical Center and admitted in stable condition.

Two adults were transported by air to OU Medical Center and another by ground. A 20-year-old Guthrie woman and a 19-year-old Del City woman were admitted in critical condition, and the child and a 21-year-old man were admitted in stable condition.

A cause of the collision is unknown as troopers continue their investigation.
