A Midwest City man is facing a felony and misdemeanor charge after he allegedly took medications and a car from his friend’s Guthrie home on Monday morning. Moments after the car was reported missing, the same car was found flipped over just missing a home.

Accident 03312014A Guthrie police officer responded to East Town Village for a stolen vehicle report at 7:52 a.m. The owner of the vehicle stated that a friend had stayed over night with him and his fiance inside their apartment. The next morning the resident woke up to go to work and noticed his fiance’s purse was scattered on the counter, including pill bottles containing Xanax and Lortab. Moments later, the victim said he could not find his car keys and his red 2009 Toyota Camry was missing.

A second call came at about the same time from a residence in the 5200 block of W. State Highway 33, near Cimarron National Golf Course, stating a red vehicle had crashed on his property.

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, James Nicklas Stuckey, 27, was traveling west on Hwy 33 and departed the roadway to the right, made an abrupt turn left, entering a broad slide, crossed the east bound lane and departed the roadway striking a mailbox. Finally, the vehicle rolled an unknown amount of times striking a fence and landing on its top.

The report goes on to say that the home owner helped Stuckey out of the vehicle. Stuckey was then transported to Mercy Hospital Logan County and after being medically cleared was taken into custody.

Stuckey is being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs. He was given a $7,000 bond and is expected to be back in the Logan County Courthouse on June 26.
