The Guthrie city council approved an ordinance that will allow neighborhood garage sales inside the city limits.
The council, which met Tuesday evening, approved the motion unanimously.
The neighborhood garage sale, much like the current residential garage sale, will require a permit and are limited to one per year. The neighborhood sale can be held by a recognized homeowners association, organized neighborhood group or six or more homes in a contiguous area.
Participation in a neighborhood garage sale will not affect an individual from having their own personal garage sale.
Neighborhood garage sale permits will be $30.00 and issued for no more than three consecutive days.
