The Guthrie City Council came to an agreement with Neighborhood Solutions, who will operate and maintain the Community Vegetable Garden located at Mineral Wells Park.
An agreement was originally set between the City and God’s Food Bank in Nov. 2011, but the food bank recently submitted a termination letter. Now, the food bank will seek a larger garden to help feed those who are in need. Each week, the food bank serves 450 families in the community.
The City will continue to provide the land, located on the park’s south side, at no charge and is responsible for utilities associated with the used of community gardening.
Neighborhood Solutions, who is not to profit from the garden, will be responsible for all aspects of operating, and maintaining the area.
