Neighborhood Solutions newest program “Guthrie Cares” in conjunction with Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Fresh Paint Days has completed their annual project by giving the new location of God’s Food Bank a fresh coat of paint. This was one of 41 projects being undertaken in the month of September by various organizations in 30 Oklahoma counties.
Along with a fresh coat of paint, God’s Food Bank, located at 402 W Vilas, will be installing all new windows. The food bank is gearing up for their new location to be better able to fulfill their mission of providing food to those in need.
A spokesperson for Neighborhood Solutions says they are grateful for their corporate support through the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Foundation, and particularly for HIS Coatings, who provided all the paint and Guthrie ACE Hardware for their constant support.
The project was completed by 37 volunteers from Guthrie Job Corps, God’s Food Bank, Neighborhood Solutions and individuals giving up their Saturday (September 12) to help their neighbors in need.
The spokesperson also gave thanks to the City of Guthrie, who says supports them in all of their endeavors. Donuts were provided by Laurie Fuller and OJ Myers while fried chicken was provided for lunch by friends and volunteers with Companion Health.
