Original Story
USA Football and the NFL are excited to start the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program’s 52nd season. Part of that season will be in action on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the high school practice field.
NFL PP&K, the oldest grassroots initiative at the NFL, continues to reach children ages 6-15 and allows them to experience the fun of learning football fundamentals in an engaging and supportive non-contact environment.
Participants will punt, pass and kick a football. A boy and girl at each age level will be determined the winner based on the distance and accuracy of their attempts.
Winners in each age group will advance to the state level in hopes of kicking in Dallas at a Dallas Cowboys game as local athlete Micayla Haynes has been able to achieve in the past two years.
The event is sponsored by the Guthrie Kiwanis Club and is open to boys and girls, ages 8-12. There is no fee to participate.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the practice field behind Guthrie High School on Saturday and must be signed by a parent or guardian, or you can register online here.
