Noble Ave. to intermittently close over Cottonwood Creek Thursday, Monday nights

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation announced bridge construction on State Highway 33, also known as Noble Ave., will be shut down on Thursday evening and next Monday.

Eastbound and westbound Noble Ave. will be intermittently closed between US-77/Division St. and N. 5th St. over Cottonwood Creek with flaggers and a pilot car moving traffic from 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday and from 8 p.m. to midnight June 4 in order to hang new bridge beams as part of ongoing bridge construction.

Traffic will remain one lane in each direction, the speed limit remains reduced and there is no pedestrian access across the bridge through fall 2018.

ODOT says motorists also may expect closures associated with the project with 5th St., N. 8th St., N. 9th St. and N. 11th St. remaining to be closed through fall 2018.

In addition, access to Highway 33 from these streets is permanently closed: 2nd St., lower Noble Ave., 4th St., 6th St., 7th St., S. 8th St., S. 9th St. and S. 10th St.

A reminder wide loads are restricted from using Highway 33 between I-35 and SH-74 due to the ongoing bridge reconstruction through fall 2018. Wide loads must detour on I-35 or SH-74.
