Obituary: Bobby Lee Terrill

Bobby passed away on May 13, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was born March 5, 1947, in Okemah, Oklahoma to Vearl and Lola Mae Terrill. He was predeceased by his brother, David Terrill, and is survived by twin brother, Billy Terrill, sister, Kathie Johnson, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.   

The family later moved to Arcadia, OK, and after graduating high school he married and had three daughters – Christine, Tammy, and Tracy.

Bobby enlisted in the Army National Guard of Oklahoma in August 1966 where he served until January 1972.  He trained in Fort Ord, at the United States Army Post in Monterey Bay, California where he trained as a lineman and was a certified sharpshooter, (Rifle M-14).

After attending sheet metal school and becoming a certified apprentice, Bobby worked for many years as a sheet metal journalist for Southwestern Roofing and Sheetmetal Company in Oklahoma City. Later, he owned and operated his own companies – Abet Heat & Air and Northwestern Sheet Metal Company in Oklahoma City.  After retiring, he worked as a taxidermist in Guthrie, OK for multiple years. 

Bobby married the love of his life, Bonnie on November 11, 1994, and they were married for nearly thirty years.  Bobby is survived by two daughters, Christine Payne and Tammy (John) Rodriguez.  He is predeceased by one daughter, Tracy Sullivan. He is survived by his two son-in-laws, John Rodriguez and Steven Sullivan. 

There are seven grandchildren, Austin (Sierra) Jarnagin, Gage (Makaylah) Sullivan, Breanna (Ty) Ramsey, Shelby Rodriguez, Savanah Rodriguez, Caramie (Erick) Perry,  Kimball Payne, and three great-grandchildren, Hunter and Easton Jarnagin, and Sonder Perry.

He is also survived by his step-grandchildren, Tyler Sullivan, Nicole (Carson) McNaulty, Alexandria Sullivan, and Lana Garcia.

Bobby loved hunting in Colorado and Texas. The family spent a lot of time at Lake Tenkiller where he taught his children and many of their friends to water ski, threw them from knee boards and caught pounds of fish. He was a loving and thoughtful husband, a proud father and grandfather who loved all his children deeply; he will be missed by many.
