In a brief special meeting on Monday evening, the Guthrie Board of Education selected a new leader for the upcoming 2013-14 school year at Guthrie Junior High.
The school board approved Doug Ogle, 43, as the new principal for the Junior Hgh. He replaces Tim Rawls, who resigned in May.
Ogle comes to Guthrie from Blackwell where he has spent the past 15 years. He leaves the Blackwell school district as the high school assistant principal and athletic director.
Before going into administration, Ogle taught Geography, American History, Keyboarding and Physical Education. He also spent time coaching.
According to his bio on the Blackwell school district’s website, he graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1995 and completed his masters degree from Southwestern University in 2005.
Guthrie Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said he is excited for Ogle to be coming to Guthrie and joining the staff.
The Junior High is still without an assistant principal job and is expected to be filled soon. The position became open when Terry Carris announced his retirement following the school 2012-13 school year.
Doug Ogle is a good man, and Guthrie is extremely lucky to have him joining their administration!
