Original Story – Amid alleged sexual misconduct by a former Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper, it will now depend on what the Logan County District Attorney’s office finds in the matter.

Former OHP trooper Patrick Venable resigned his post on June 29th.

Patrick Venable was investigated by the OHP after anonymous caller reported sexual misconduct by the trooper. OHP officials would not reveal what those allegations are, but a police report has not been filed and no arrest has been made.

Venable resigned his post on June 29th according to OHP Colonel Kerry Pettingill.

“We have to have the people of this state trust us. As enforcers of the law we have to enforce the law even if it’s internal,” Pettingill said in a news conference on July 22nd.

A spokesperson for the Logan County district attorney’s office told The Oklahoman they have received OHP’s internal investigation and should know within two weeks whether charges will be filed in the case.
