The Oklahoma City Thunder and OG&E will honor Captain Ryan Reeves of the Guthrie Fire Department as the January OG&E Safety Partner Award recipient, Friday, January 9, 12 p.m., Guthrie Fire Department, 209 E. Springer Ave, Guthrie.
During the celebration, the Thunder and OG&E will present Reeves with a donation to the Guthrie Fire Department.
The event is free and open to the public.
“Captain Ryan Reeves has dedicated 19 years of service to this department and to the citizens of Guthrie,” Gthrie Fire Chief Dane Lausen said. “Throughout his career, Ryan has continually focused on improving himself as a firefighter, paramedic, and captain, while also making it a priority to pass his knowledge and experience to our younger members.”
Lausen added,” His work ethic and commitment are a true reflection of the award he has received. I am proud of Ryan for the way he has represented this department.”
Reeves will also be recognized at the Thunder vs Spurs game, Tuesday, Jan. 13.
“Leaders like Ryan Reeves truly embody what it means to be a safety partner—continually pursuing new training, supporting colleagues, and going above and beyond to protect our community,” said Spencer Browne, OG&E Community Affairs Manager. “His commitment to innovative safety practices and his passion for service, both on and off duty, reflect the values we seek in every partnership. We are proud to work alongside individuals and teams who, like Ryan, make a meaningful difference every day and inspire others to do the same.”
The OG&E Safety Partner Award is a partnership between OG&E and the Thunder to recognize first responders across Oklahoma who exhibit the values of teamwork, integrity, public service, individual safety, and well-being.
