One person found dead inside house fire

Guthrie News Page has confirmed one person has died inside a house that has been destroyed by fire on Guthrie’s east side of town.

Fire crews responded to the 600 block of E. Springer at 11:43 Friday morning. Once on the scene, just 30 seconds after the call was dispatched, the front of the home was fully-involved with flames and smoke.

The dark, thick smoke could be seen miles away.

The fire department needed 90 minutes to get control of the flames.

Once inside, a body was discovered.

Another person from the home was taken to Mercy Logan County Hospital for medical attention by a Guthrie police officer.

He was treated and released at 1:30 p.m. and escorted to the police station.

The Guthrie Police Department has been on scene and will be assisting the Guthrie Fire Department with the investigation.

Guthrie News Page will have additional details as they become available, including video.

We are neighbors. My wife and I are praying for the family and their loss. We want to compliment the Guthrie Fire Department and the volunteer fire departments that helped to get the fire under control and finally put it out.
