Now with the water levels back down at both the Cottonwood Creek and Snake Creek, the clean up phase has taken over.
The Street’s crew was seen repairing parts of the Mineral Wells Park pond and park area on Monday following the flood over the weekend that caused Division Street to be closed for nearly 12 hours.
The park remains close until the area can be repaired in full.
The Guthrie Community Garden took a hit when the flood waters covered the plants and vegetables for several hours.
“I know that a lot of the beds along the south side took a big hit and were underwater for many hours. The production garden appears to be fine though,” a post read on their Facebook page.

Businesses on the west side immediately got to cleaning their area as soon as Highway 33 (Noble) was reopened on Sunday afternoon. Many of the businesses said they would be opening back up soon.
The eighth largest flood recorded for the west side location halted traffic for 19 hours as the waters reached 27.4 feet (5.4 feet above stage flood level).
Roads and grassy areas continue to have a “muddy” look to them, but rain is in the forecast and could help eliminate some of the brown texture that the creeks left behind.
