Guthrie Lodge 35 has been honored with the annual Masonry In Action Award, granted by the Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma. This award recognizes two Oklahoma Masonic lodges each year who make outstanding effort to care for their members, impact their communities, and bring positive recognition to the Fraternity.
As part of the award recognition, winning lodges are granted $5,000 in charitable funds for the local charitable or educational group(s) of their choice. Guthrie lodge has been a long-time supporter of Peppers Ranch, a Guthrie home for abused and neglected children.
As part of the 2016 Walk-A-Thon, the lodge presented fundraiser proceeds totaling $8,200 to representatives of Peppers Ranch, then presented an additional check for $5,000 representing the Masonry In Action Award grant funds at a special ceremony July 19th.
During 2015, the members of Guthrie lodge made exceptional efforts to care for their members, support local youth, and positively impact the Guthrie community, including over $10,000 in fundraising for Peppers Ranch.
Marlow Lodge 103 was also recognized as part of the Masonry In Action Award program. Over 200 Masonic lodges in communities throughout Oklahoma use volunteer efforts, fundraisers, and support from the Masonic Charity Foundation to infuse over $3 million into local Oklahoma communities each year.
