Police cruiser catches fire

A Guthrie Police Department cruiser caught fire Wednesday morning.

At about 7:30 a.m. in the alley way across from the police station, an officer requested the Guthrie Fire Department after flames were visible from underneath the hood.

The officer was able to wipe the fire out with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.

Upon arrival, firefighters doused the 2009 Dodge Charger engine with water to avoid the fire from starting back up.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.
