Every December, the Guthrie Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #105 sponsors the annual Christmas Shopping with a Cop event. With the holiday right around the corner, donations are coming in but more are needed to help give children and their family a good Christmas this year.

The Albert Pike Lodge #162 donated $1,000 to Guthrie Officer Jason Hamilton for the Shopping with a Cop program.
Needy children are paired with a Guthrie police officer who spends time with them and helps them pick out Christmas presents for themselves and other family members.
Last year businesses and citizens donated $5,000 to the program and in return allowed 77 children to go shopping.
“This event is to provide a merrier holiday season and allow the children to spend time with law enforcement officers in a positive setting,” stated Jason Hamilton, program coordinator and vice-president of the Guthrie FOP Lodge.
Prior to the city council meeting on Tuesday, the Albert Pike Lodge #162 donated $1,000 to help the cause.

The Territorial Riders give annually and this year the Tipsy Artist (Tiffany Bohrer) and Mayor Mark Spradlin are joining in on the fun.
The mayor has challenged Donna Coffin to a grudge match bake-off on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Fairgrounds. Lunch is free and desserts are $5. Half the proceeds will go to Shopping with a Cop and the other half to Logan Community Services. The event, along with an auction, begins at 11 a.m.
The police department is asking for assistance to make the event a success.
If you are interested in donating, please send your tax-deductible monetary donation in the form of a check or money order to Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #105, 306 West Oklahoma, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
If you have any additional questions, please contact the department at 282-3535.
Here are some of the moments from last year’s event.
