The Pollard Theater received a boost for their upcoming 26th season with a grant presented by the Inasmuch Foundation. The foundation plans to distribute $2.97 million in grants to 25 organizations in Oklahoma.
According to their website, Edith Kinney Gaylord founded Inasmuch Foundation in 1982 to support charitable, scientific and educational causes that enhance the progress and quality of life for Oklahomans. Today, the foundation is committed to carrying on the interests of its late founder by supporting education, health and human services and community enhancement.
The foundation awarded grants to organizations in education, health and human services and community enhancement.
The Guthrie Art and Humanities Council which supports the Pollard, received a $15,000 grant from the foundation.
The Pollard Theatre was founded with the primary goal of producing a wide variety of quality theatrical experiences for the residents and tourists of Central Oklahoma. With an emphasis on creative story-telling that illuminates the shared human experience, the Pollard produces six or more plays and musicals annually, enlisting the talents of skilled artists from all across the country. Through its season of diverse theatrical fare which includes A Territorial Christmas Carol (now playing), their annual best seller, The Pollard continues to set the standard for theatrical production in the Sooner state.
