Several high school students from across the state converged to the University of Oklahoma campus on Tuesday, as they competed in the annual OU Math Day.
Along with competition, high school students received advice from college students and faculty of the OU Mathematics Department.
Of the participants, Guthrie High School’s Tyler Porter placed third out of 100 competitors on the Algebra 2 test. Team members Raif Schwarz, Caleb Cowden, Conner Self and Ryan McIntire made it to the second round of the Sooner Bowl Team challenge.
The next competition for the Guthrie Math competitors will be in the spring at the OSU Math Bowl in Stillwater.
