Update: Flood Warning was canceled late Saturday morning.
With heavy rains throughout the day on Friday, officials are projecting the Cottonwood Creek will come out of its bank in the early morning hours on Saturday in two locations, including the west side of town.
Logan County Emergency Manager David Ball has been in contact with officials and says minor flooding is likely from the Cottonwood Creek on Broadway and on the west side of the viaduct.
A Flood Warning was issued at 3 p.m. on Friday.
Following a 3 p.m. conversation with the National Weather Service, the Cottonwood Creek is predicted to come out in the early morning hours (after midnight) along Broadway at Camp Road (southwest of Guthrie).
For the west side of town, the projection is estimated to go over flood stage late morning, early afternoon.
In both locations, the latest projections has the waters going a foot above the flood stage level of 22 feet.
If the numbers proved to be accurate, Noble Ave. is likely to be shut down at the viaduct, but traffic could be rerouted to College Ave.
Ball says those are the projections at the current time and that the Guthrie Fire Department will be monitoring the levels throughout the night.
