Surrounding Logan County fire departments responded to a single vehicle roll-over accident on Thursday afternoon. Inside the compact vehicle were two young children.
Guthrie, Woodcrest and Oak Cliff fire departments responded to the intersection of Simmons and Sooner roads for the scary accident involving a PT Cruiser with an 18 month and 9 month old inside.
Before medical teams could arrive, bystanders were able to get the female and male children out. However, the female driver was pinned inside.
Firefighters needed approximately 20 minutes to extricate the driver from the rear of the vehicle due to it laying on its side up against a cedar tree.
The female victim was flown to OU Medical Center for head, neck and back pain.
The two children, who were properly secured in their car seats, were released to their grandmother with no injuries.
It was unknown at the scene why the vehicle left the road way shortly after 4 p.m.
