Rebecca Blaine hired as City of Guthrie’s Planning Director

On Wednesday, the City of Guthrie announced Rebecca Blaine will serve as the new City Planner and Grant Administrator.

Blaine will begin her duties with the City on Monday, September 18, 2017.

According to a press release by the City, Blaine was unanimously selected by the selection committee. Along with City staff, Joe Chappell and Vern Ogden were apart of the selection committee. Chappell serves on the Planning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission while Ogden serves on the Planning Commission and the Board of Adjustment.

Blaine holds a Master of Science Degree in Architectural Urban Studies from the University of Oklahoma, as well as Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Business Marketing from Northeastern State University.

Her career experience includes serving as the current Community Development Director for the City of Newcastle, previously serving as City Planner for the City of Newcastle, and working as the City Planner and Grants Administrator for the City of Catoosa.

Blaine has marketing, software, public relations and sales experience.

City Manager Leroy Alsup stated that are pleased bring Blaine on staff.

“We are pleased to have Ms. Blaine join the City of Guthrie’s management team and look forward to her active involvement in the community.”
