A superb effort by Reed Roberts lifted Bluejays to a 24-1 win in five innings over NW Classen on Tuesday.
Roberts racked up six RBIs on three hits for Bluejays. He homered twice in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.
The biggest inning for Bluejays was the first. In the inning Bluejays scored 20 runs on 16 hits.
Blaze Hastings baffled NW Classen, striking out six batters. Hastings (1-0) allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over four innings.
Bluejays hammered NW Classen pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 25 hits, 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
Bluejays piled on three more runs in the top of the second. A error scored Camden Wilcott to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Tyler Clark’s single, plating Rowdy Reihs. Reihs was just as impressive by going 5-for-5 on the afternoon.
