Rep. John Pfeiffer announces candidacy for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner in 2026

Oklahoma Rep. John Pfeiffer, R-Mulhall, has officially announced his candidacy for Oklahoma State Labor Commissioner in the 2026 election. Pfeiffer, who has served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives since 2014, made his declaration on Thursday.

The Oklahoma Labor Commission oversees various industries and provides training on safety standards and regulations across the state.

Pfeiffer, currently serving his sixth and final term as a state representative for House District 38, will term out of office in 2026. He secured reelection in 2024 with nearly 85% of the vote against his Democratic opponent and 71% against his Republican challenger.

“I’ve fought for Oklahoma values in the State House, and now I’m ready to fight for our workers and businesses as Labor Commissioner,” Pfeiffer said in a statement. “We need less bureaucracy, more opportunity, and someone who won’t back down from liberal labor policies that threaten our economy and way of life.”

A lifelong rancher in northern Logan County, Pfeiffer also served as a decorated Marine in the United States Marine Corps.

The election for Oklahoma Labor Commissioner is set for June 16, 2026.
