District 2: Repairs to damage roads and culverts from storms continue

The Logan County Board of County Commissioners will meet at 9am, Monday, August 3rd, at the County Annex across from the Logan County Courthouse. Many citizens are interested in how our county roads and bridges are funded. The Executive Director of the Oklahoma Cooperative Circuit Engineering Districts Board, Randy Robinson, P.E., has created a presentation focused specifically on Logan County. Randy Robinson is the Exec. Dir. of all the 8 CEDs in Oklahoma. I believe that this will be illuminating and educational to those interested in open government and how it works. This will be available online.

Our crew continues repairs to roads and culverts damaged by May and June storms.  Drainage on CR 71 between Westminster and Anderson is complete. Repairs on Indian Meridian from Waterloo to Charter Oak continue and replacing fencing at the new bridge on Prairie Grove is close to complete. Hot mix asphalt for filling larger potholes will be available next week.

Please be courteous and patient to our county workers as they do their best to smooth up our roads and make them safer.

The new Loves being constructed on Hwy 33 at I-35 has a goal to open for business on October 29th. Midwest is still closed and the high pressure Guthrie waterline construction should begin soon from College to the site.

FEMA is accepting applications for disaster assistance for property damages resulting from the rains in May, June and July. Call 1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or online at www.disasterassistance.gov or m.fema.gov

Dump your unwanted furniture, appliances and junk at the District 2 roll off dumpster, not in the creek. It is free to Logan County residents (non commercial) to use. We are located at 1550 N Midwest which is one mile north of the new Loves Truckstop being constructed at the I-35/Hwy 33 intersection. While Midwest is closed, College is the best way to get here. Our hours are 7:30-4 M-F.

Do not count on “someone else” to keep us informed on road conditions. .We will respond as soon as we are able. Our office is 282-3405 and my cell is 405-650-0384 and I text. Or email us at [email protected].
