The Guthrie High School girls golf team hosted 21 teams for the Guthrie Lady Jays Invitational last week. Not only was the Guthrie program gracious host, they captured two of the three top spots in the final standings as well as finishing runner-up.
Sarah Rhinehart came away as the top individual scorer in the field of 123 players with a round of 81 on the Aqua Canyon Course at Cimarron National Golf Course. Her score was four shots better than Mustang’s Taje’ Woods.

Guthrie’s Drew Dodgion shot an 87 to earn a third place finish.
Lindsey Ball shot an even 100 for a top 20 finish, while Kelsey Raney finished with an 111.
Overall, Mustang finished with the team title by one stroke over Guthrie, 378-379, in the large school.
In the small school tournament, Mooreland won by seven strokes over Turner, 393-400.
The same golf course will host the Class 5A regional later this year.
