After serving downtown Guthrie with sweet treats and warm smiles for more than 18 years, Rick’s Fine Chocolates & Coffees will permanently close its storefront at 109 W. Oklahoma on July 5.
For nearly two decades, Rick’s has been a go-to destination for handmade chocolates, truffles, caramels, and specialty coffee drinks. Known for its mission to “provide the highest quality of products and services to everyone, every time,” Rick’s created an experience that was equal parts indulgent and inviting.
But the sweet story isn’t ending — it’s just turning a page.
Owner Stacy Gilliland announced an exciting new chapter for the business, sharing that the chocolate-making side will continue under a new name: Nardello’s Chocolates + Confections, in honor of her mother’s maiden name and family heritage.
“I’ve been praying, asking for direction, and God has given me my answer,” Gilliland wrote in her heartfelt message. “Being able to continue my mother’s family heritage is an honor I will not take lightly.”
With new branding and opportunities ahead, Gilliland is preparing to launch a website soon, allowing customers to continue enjoying her creations at various retail locations. While the brick-and-mortar shop is closing, the legacy and love poured into every handmade chocolate will live on.
Rick’s is also encouraging customers to redeem any outstanding gift cards or coupons before the July 5 closing date.
The shop’s dedicated staff are also stepping into new seasons of life — pursuing dreams in education, real estate, and even medicine.
“We have served our customers face-to-face in one location, and now you’ll be able to purchase our yummy goodies at various locations,” Gilliland said.
