The Guthrie Bluejays hosted the Red Coyote Guthrie Invitational this past weekend. Guthrie saw themselves in a very competitive field.

The Lady Jays ran their first 5k of the season and took fifth place.

This time, it was senior Tori Wells who led the way on the girls side. She finished 11th place overall and placed second in 5A.

Coming up two places behind her was Mercy Dement.

In order of finish, first-year runner Alessandra Isella, followed by Sierra Warner, Kaitlyn Leaty, Josie Throckmorton and Abigail Brown rounded up the field for the Lady Jays.

The Bluejays came in short handed, as their top two finishers from their previous meet were unable to compete on Saturday, including senior stand-out Trevor Sallee.

Loren Huskey, Grant Mayer, Mason Barney, Braden Hall, Jaxon Harden and William Knell placed the Jays 12th out of 18 teams.
