For the second straight year, Spoonful Pharmacy has helped lead the way in donating school supplies and backpacks for incoming first graders at Central Elementary. On Tuesday, the boxes among boxes of supplies were delivered and are now prepared to be distributed to students.
The community driven project is driven by the pharmacy owners Phillip and Amy Carothers. With their leadership, 300 students will come to school and greeted with a backpack full of school supplies for the entire year.
In addition, the project was fueled by private donations as well as from AC Hallmark, Red Sea Waterproofing and Proud Dental.
Guthrie Public Schools will thank the entire group with a presentation on the first day of school set for Aug. 20.
