A semi-truck driver was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following an accident on State Highway 33.
Emergency crews were dispatched to SH-33 and Western at 1:56 p.m. for a multi-vehicle accident.
While the crash continues to be investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Department, a vehicle is believed to have traveled left of the center causing the semi-truck driver to swerve and avoid the collision. However, the fuel truck, which luckily was empty, hit the bridge rail and went off the roadway.
Another vehicle carrying pipe came to a rest on the nearby bridge with the wood coming off the trailer and into the roadway.
The driver of the semi-truck was extricated and transported to a Oklahoma City hospital by Guthrie EMS.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control until after 4 p.m.
I saw a jeep totally engulfed on fire Saturday January 9, 2019 but have not seen anything on the news about it. There was a couple of the white fire chiefs trucks and finally a fire truck showed up. This was off highway 151 between Guthrie and Langston yesterday. What was the deal?
