Sen. Hall takes oath of office, begins second term

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Chuck Hall, R-Perry, was sworn in for a second term in the Oklahoma Senate last week in a ceremony presided over by Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell, with the oath of office administered by Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice Richard Darby.  Members of Hall’s family, along with friends and supporters from District 20, attended the ceremony. Hall was automatically re-elected after running unopposed for the seat.

“When I began my first term in 2018, I said my priorities included creating jobs, expanding our economy and generating more resources for education, public safety and other core services.  We’ve accomplished those goals and more, and I am profoundly grateful for the faith my constituents have placed in me to continue to serve them in the Oklahoma Senate,” Hall said.

Hall currently is vice chair of the full Senate Appropriations Committee, and holds seats on the Senate Finance Committee and General Government.  He’s a member of the oversight committee for the Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency (LOFT), and has co-chaired one of the bipartisan, bicameral working groups under the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding, helping to identify transformational projects and investments to move Oklahoma forward after the COVID-19 pandemic.

His leadership during his first term has resulted in the passage of several key initiatives, including the effort to modernize and standardize services Oklahoma consumers receive at local tag agencies through the creation of the Service Oklahoma franchise system.

“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in the last four years, and I’m excited to continue that work on behalf of the citizens of Senate District 20,” Hall said.

The full Senate will meet on Jan. 3, 2023, to formally elect leadership for the chamber and adopt rules for the 59^th Legislature.  The 2023 session will formally get underway on Feb. 6.
