State Senator A.J. Griffin has announced her endorsement of Republican Garry Mize in the upcoming election for Oklahoma State House District 31.
Term limits prevent current Representative Jason Murphey from running again. House District 31’s boundaries include most of Logan County and northern Oklahoma County.
“I’ve known Garry Mize and his family for many years,” Senator Griffin said.
“Garry is a small business owner and investment advisor. We need more people like that in office – people who understand what it takes to run a business, balance budgets and deal with government regulation,” Griffin said.
“Garry’s roots go deep here, and he cares about our future. Garry will be a very effective leader at the Capitol, and I’m proud to support him.” Griffin said.
Candidates can begin filing for 2018 federal, state and legislative offices between April 11-13.
The Primary Election will be held in June 2018 and the General Election in November 2018.
Mize, Desiree Brown and Rod Baker have verbally committed to filing and running for office.
