Logan County Sheriff Jim Bauman is reminding all interested parties that the Cimarron River is not public property.
In an email statement, Bauman says the land of the Cimarron River is owned by various resident landowners of the counties that the river runs through.
“The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints of individuals riding four wheelers and motorcycles on the privately owned properties,” Bauman said.
“These individuals are trespassing on each of the landowner’s properties. If an individual does not have the expressed permission of the land owner to be on the property then the individual is trespassing.”
Individuals can be cited, fined and even arrested (if necessary) for trespassing if the property is legally posted.
