The Guthrie sixth grade Bluejays finished their 2012 football season with a trip to the Championship Finals where they finished runner-up in the 16 team Deep Fork Valley Conference.

The Jays finished their regular season 7-1, finishing second in the western division of the conference.

Their playoff record was 3-1 where they also finished second in the championship finals. Both defeats in regular season play and the play-offs came at the hands of the Blanchard Lions.

Head coach Shane Curtin said the boys were able to reach their goal for the season by playing in the Championship game.

“While obviously we would have preferred coming away with the win, the loss doesn’t take away from the fantastic season these young men had. The other coaches and I were extremely proud of each of them.”
