An Edmond man pleaded guilty to first degree murder last month in front of a Logan County judge. Last week he was sentenced to serve life in prison with the possibility of parole in a plea deal.
Timohty Earl Slawson, now 23-years-old, pleaded guilty to the murder of Mindy Dawn Carder, whose body was found partially-clothed on a dead-end gravel road in southern Logan County on Oct. 11, 2013.
Slawson was arrested just hours after the body was found.
According to an affidavit, OSBI was notified by a phone call that a female, who says she was working as a prostitute, along with Carder and a male traveled to the suspects home on Oct. 10. Slawson later admitted he went to a website to find prostitutes and that he decided he was going to have sex and kill the prostitute.
Slawson, who admitted to the killing during the investigation, was sentenced on Oct. 16 and must serve 85 percent of his sentence before having the possibility of parole. As part of the plea deal, Slawson must undergo mental health treatment.
