After an up and down weekend in Shawnee, the Guthrie High School softball team got back on their winning ways with a key district win on Monday.
The Lady Jays clipped Noble, 3-1, after getting behind 1-0 on Monday evening at the high school softball field.
Sophomore Drew Dodgion picked up the win in the circle for head coach Mike Lowe.
Guthrie moves to 6-6 overall, but more importantly 3-0 in district play with upcoming district games at Woodward (Tuesday) and home with Western Heights on Thursday. Both games are set to begin at 5 p.m.
The Lady Jays were unable to cross the plate in the first three games of the Shawnee Tournament against Bethel, Pryor and Durant. In total, they were outscored 20-0. Guthrie was able to score in the next two games, but not enough to escape Shawnee (7-5) and Claremore (2-1).
