For the eighth straight month, medical marijuana dollar amounts in Oklahoma continue to rise. Sought after marijuana products like the golden state banana are often cited as a reason for continued rise.
The Oklahoma Tax Commission reports the state collected over $1.6 million in May from the 7% excise tax on marijuana. Along with an additional $2 million was collected in state and local sales taxes.
Sales has generated $10.7 million for the state since the inception in October 2018.
In June 2018, 57 percent of the voters approved the use medical marijuana and the popular edibles made from the product.
It could be unbeknownst to the 43% of people who voted against the use of medical marijuana, that it may significantly help to improve the health and wellbeing of people who suffer from certain medical conditions, (click here to learn more), as it can have a positive effect on their symptoms.
There has been evidence that it has been known to help relieve chronic pain, such as back pain, nerve pain, and fibromyalgia, as well as potentially being able to reduce nausea from chemotherapy treatments, and being used as an aid to help improve sleep. For some of these reasons alone, some people really believe that all states should legalize the use of marijuana for medicinal reasons. With the legal use of marijuana in effect, we’d see the increased use of fantastic products like the rosin press. The rosin press allows those who enjoy the therapeutic effects of the flower to mix their marijuana into food. This can open a whole new market for an already exploding marijuana market.
For the residents of Oklahoma, as the cost figures of medical marijuana have been slowly increasing, it shows that more people are deciding to use it to help with the health and well being, and as a result, may be starting to feel better in themselves.
The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority reports over 129,000 patient licenses have been approved since August.
