Stella Dumas has given and shown an unmeasurable amount of love for so many in the Guthrie community over the years, now her family is hoping her community can assist her in the fight against cancer.
Stella has dedicated her life helping others, especially the youth. She served at University of Central Oklahoma for 10 years and recently 15 years for Guthrie Public Schools.
“She loved working with the kids and she did everything In her power to make sure they never went without,” a family member said. “Stella Dumas is a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.”
In August 2019, Stella was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Unfortunately, by the time of the diagnosis, the cancer had spread to her kidneys and liver.
Just recently, she chose to come home to be with her children and grandchildren.
“She’s a warrior and she put up a good fight. Saturday, she was able to come home with Hospice.”
During this process, Stella lost her insurance and a good part of the medical treatments will not be able to be covered.
A GoFundMe page has been setup for the family if you would like to assist.
“She is the most selfless, caring, and deserving human being you could ever meet.”
