Staff with the City of Guthrie and Logan County came together to show school children in Guthrie the true meaning of local spirit through the annual Easter Egg hunt.
Maureen. McWhirter’s first grade class from Central Elementary braved the cool, April winds for an Easter egg hunt on the lawn of the Guthrie Masonic Temple.
A few parents joined in on the fun and appeared to be like kids themselves, again.
Guthrie City Manager Sereniah Breland joined in on the hunt with the kids that she knows all to well. Breland substitutes every Friday afternoon at Central Elementary in McWhirter’s class.
Of course, the Easter bunny was on hand to hop along with the kids and pick out 12 eggs filled with candy.
Guthrie officer and school’s resource officer Jonathan “JW” Williams helped out one of the many kids he helps protects daily.
Logan County Sheriff Jim Bauman was also on hand to help overlook the hunt.
