Teacher walkout food distribution for those in need of food

Boxes and boxes of food arrived in Guthrie to help students with meals as teachers continue to rally for public education. Guthrie Public Schools also continues food services for students.

The boxes of food arrived at Generations Church Guthrie, 2524 W. Noble Ave., and have established days and times for teachers, students and families for pickup.

Generations Church, a partner with the Ministerial Alliance, has partnered with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

“These boxes can be given to teachers and support staff. Just bring your school badge or proof of employment,” Pastor Josh Seabolt said.

Food can be given to any family that has students currently enrolled in the school system.

Pick up dates this week, include Monday (2 -4 p.m.), Tuesday (2 – 4 p.m.), Wednesday (2 – 7 p.m.) and Sunday (1 – 3 p.m.).

Guthrie Schools continue to serve breakfast and lunch at Cotteral Elementary and lunch at Central Elementary. There is no cost to anyone 18 and under. The serving times are 7:30 – 8 a.m. for breakfast and 11:30 a.m. to noon for lunch.

Due to a lack of participation, Guthrie Upper Elementary will no longer be serving lunch.
